Portfolio
Below is a sample of some of the stuff I’ve done in 10+ years of being a “web guy,”. You can read my writing, look at designs I’ve worked on, etc. For many of these, I also did SEO and other forms of online marketing. Most of these are still active projects. Others are just on hiatus. If you have any questions about any of these projects or others that I’ve worked on, please contact me today!
Solid State Networks
Solid State Networks is one of my major projects. It’s a WordPress website for which we designed a custom theme that includes several custom page templates. I wrote the copy for (almost) all the pages, press releases and blog posts. There’s lots more behind the scenes, so if you have any questions about this project, contact me!
holySmith!
holySmith! has provided quality blogging since 1956! OK, not really. I started it in 2005 and it has two main functions: One is to serve as a testing ground for various WordPress-related things. The other is to entertain the people that work with my father because it shows them new ways to waste valuable work time on the Internet!
Eye on the Skye
Eye on the Skye is the official fan website for Stëv Skye. This is a fun project because I get to write about rock music while I chronicle my friend’s music and career. The site is a fairly straightforward WordPress blog with a modified theme and custom logo that I made.
Wayne DeFrancesco
Wayne DeFrancesco is a golf instructor who can analyze your swing, my swing, Tiger Woods’ swing, even his own and help make it better. I helped develop the site (WordPress with a custom theme) and there will be quite a bit more online marketing action on the horizon. Stay tuned for more on this project.
MerchantZoo
MerchantZoo began in 2004 as a high-commission alternative to the big affiliate programs. I led the branding, design and copywriting for the site. The tracking and payout system was created from scratch by our team of programmers and affiliate marketers. The logo features a custom-drawn penguin hauling a bag of cash to the bank (one of my favorite logos).
The Web Mark
The Web Mark has quite a history. The site is a great example of how quality content can bring quality traffic even years after it was done. I wrote the copy and code for this site (mostly in 2004) and it still ranks well and pulls organic traffic (and even some new business) to this day. She’s just about due for a facelift, too.
AlienZoo
AlienZoo was a dotcom startup and it’s also where I started my career as an online writer/editor. Although it’s not staffed like it was back then, the site has a blog, a cool design, an e-commerce section and an archive of much of the “original” content. It sells or has sold UFO videos, shirts and other out-of-this-world stuff. Some of my old humor posts are still up there, too.
Lots of other stuff I’ve been working on will be added soon.
